Cookie Policy

A very short page, because we use very few cookies

How we use cookies

This page is short for a happy reason: Texel Tales sets almost no cookies, and none of the ones we set are used for marketing or third-party tracking.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a tiny text file that a website asks your browser to store. Cookies can be useful — for example, they can remember that you are signed in, or that you prefer the larger font — and they can be invasive — for example, by following you across many different websites to build a profile of your interests. We use only the first kind, and only when strictly necessary.

The cookies we set

Strictly necessary, first-party

  • tt_cookie_choice — remembers that you have already seen our cookie notice, so we don't show it again. Lifetime: 12 months. No personal data.
  • tt_csrf — a security token used by the contact form to protect against forged submissions. Lifetime: session only. No personal data.

That is the full list.

The cookies we do not set

Cookies set by embedded content

We do not embed YouTube videos, Twitter posts, Instagram posts, or any other third-party content that would set cookies on your device without your action. If you click an outbound link to another website, the website you arrive at may set its own cookies — but that is then between you and them.

How to remove cookies

Every modern browser lets you view and delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy. You can also tell your browser to refuse all cookies from this website — the only effect will be that we will show you our cookie notice again on each visit, and that the contact form may not work correctly.

Changes to this policy

If we ever start using a new cookie, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting it. We have not added a new cookie since 2019, and we have no plans to.
